Company Branding - the advanced domain name finder
Description
This is an avanced prompt for finding domains, it will work on claude and requires some easy setup first. It is much better at avoiding names that have been registered
Instructions
We are going to setup a connector in claude with godaddy, we use godaddy to tell us if the domain is taken or not but that does not mean we need to use it for purchasing domains etc.
# How to Add the GoDaddy Connector to Claude and Check Domain Availability
The GoDaddy connector lets Claude check whether a domain name is available to register, directly in chat. Once connected, Claude gains two tools: `check_domain` (checks availability of a specific domain) and `suggest_domains` (suggests alternatives). This guide walks through connecting GoDaddy in the Claude desktop app and running your first availability check.
**What you'll need:** the Claude desktop app, a GoDaddy account (free to create), and about two minutes.
*Images below are illustrative mockups of the Claude interface; exact layout may vary by version.*
## Step 1: Open Settings
Click your initials in the bottom-left corner of the Claude app and choose **Settings** (or press **Cmd+,** on Mac / **Ctrl+,** on Windows).

## Step 2: Go to Connectors
In the Settings sidebar, select **Connectors**. This page lists everything already connected to your account.

## Step 3: Browse and find GoDaddy
Click **Browse connectors** and type **GoDaddy** in the search box. The GoDaddy connector appears with the description "Search domains and check availability."

## Step 4: Connect and authorize
Click **Connect** on the GoDaddy card. Your browser opens a GoDaddy sign-in page — log in and click **Authorize** to grant Claude access. When it finishes, you're returned to Claude and GoDaddy shows as **Connected**.

## Step 5: Check a domain
Start a new chat and ask something like:
> Is `mycoolstartup.com` available?
Claude calls the `check_domain` tool and reports whether the domain is available, often with pricing. Ask for alternatives and Claude will use `suggest_domains` to propose similar names.

> **Tip:** If Claude doesn't use the tool, click the tools icon in the chat input and confirm GoDaddy is toggled on for that chat.
## Troubleshooting
- **GoDaddy doesn't appear in search** — connectors availability varies by plan; make sure the app is up to date.
- **Authorization fails** — sign in to godaddy.com in your browser first, then retry Connect.
- **Tool not triggering** — mention the domain explicitly ("check if example.com is available") or verify the connector is enabled in the chat's tool menu.
That's it — Claude can now check domain availability for you any time you're naming a project, product, or business.
Prompt
You are a domain name generator and availability checker for a new business.
Step 1 — Ask me for:
* Keywords describing the business (2-5 words)
* What the business does (1 sentence)
* Preferred style (e.g. playful, professional, short/brandable, descriptive)
* Preferred extension(s) — default to .com only unless told otherwise
Step 2 — Generate 15-20 candidate domain names based on the keywords, mixing:
* Direct keyword combinations
* Synonyms and related metaphors
* Short invented/brandable words
* Compound words (e.g. keyword + "hub", "loop", "scout", "cue")
Step 3 — Verify every candidate using the check_domain tool (GoDaddy MCP) before showing it to me:
* Call check_domain on each candidate individually
* Only keep names that check_domain confirms as available
* Discard any name check_domain reports as registered, taken, or premium
* Optionally, use the suggest_domains tool to pull additional available alternatives if my original candidates mostly come back taken
* Do NOT present a name as available unless check_domain has explicitly confirmed it — no guessing, no inferring from search results, no "no evidence found" as a substitute
* If check_domain is unavailable or the connector isn't active, tell me explicitly before giving any suggestions, and label every name "UNVERIFIED — check_domain not available" rather than presenting it as confirmed
Step 4 — Present only the check_domain-confirmed available names, in a short list, grouped by style (e.g. "Direct & clear" / "Brandable" / "Playful"), with one line on why each fits the business, and note the exact TLD confirmed (e.g. .com vs .net).
Step 5 — If fewer than 5 names come back available, generate a second batch and re-check automatically rather than stopping.
This prompt is very powerful and reliable for if you dont want any false signals of inactive domains being recomended which are not available to purchase. It creates a powerful, highly efficient branding assistant that eliminates that frustration. Here is why a user would deploy it: * Saves Time and Prevents Disappointment: Instead of forcing the user to manually type dozens of ideas into a domain registrar to see what is taken, the prompt mandates a live availability check (or explicit disclosure if a live check isn’t possible). It filters out the “heartbreak” of falling in love with an unavailable name. * Forces Creative Variety: Left to their own devices, people often stick to literal keyword combinations. This prompt instructs the AI to blend synonyms, metaphors, short brandable words, and clever suffixes to provide a diverse portfolio of choices. * Tailored to Brand Identity: By capturing the business’s core function, keywords, and preferred style (e.g., playful vs. professional) right at the start, it ensures the generated names actually match the company’s intended vibe. * Ensures a Healthy Selection: Step 5 acts as a built-in quality safeguard. If the first round of checks yields too many taken domains, the AI automatically keeps working until it provides a solid list of viable options. * Organized for Easy Decision-Making: By grouping the final available names by style and adding a brief rationale for each, it allows the user to easily scan, compare, and pitch the best options to partners or stakeholders.
